About us
The Burpham Community Association aims to foster a sense of community within Burpham, promote its collective interests and contribute towards making Burpham a great place in which to live, work and learn.
Amongst many other activities we liaise with our MP, local borough councillors and county councillor on a variety of local issues, for example, planning, road and traffic problems and the serious flooding and drainage problems endemic in Burpham.
Funds are needed to ensure that we can continue to:
Keep the community informed through a double page news sheet in the bimonthly magazine Burpham Pages and maintain and developing the BCA website.
Give financial assistance to the Burpham Neighborhood Forum (the statutory body which represents Burpham residents in preparing the 'Burpham Neighbourhood Plan' and responding to the 'Guildford Local Plan' and its proposal for major housing developments.)
Obtain professional and legal advice and representation when major planning issues cause concern.
Hire venues for public meetings and fund a small token of appreciation to invited speakers.
Maintain membership of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and Open Spaces Society (that seeks to protect open spaces, common land, public paths and village greens) and affiliation to Guildford Residents Association (GRA).
Make contributions and donations to support local events, activities and displays.
We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our service!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
Yours sincerely,
The BCA Committee
